It’s obvious to see that the 21st century is the era of projects. All over the world, unique endeavors such as investing in tourism, developing software, producing a satellite dish, or building an airplane are taken on as a “project” and created using project management methodology.
Today, innovation is the key to sucess and project success is the proof of organizational success.
It’s not easy to manage a project due to its subjective qualities. We don’t look at a successful project as one that has managed time, budget, and quality concerns. Instead, we tend to view a successful project as one that has attained its goals, identified its characteristics, and met its time and cost estimates. If we look at it from this way, we can see that there are many project failures all around us.
However, projects have qualities that can contribute to big improvements and enable big leaps. As a result, one of the requirements of being a successful organization or manager is to be able to develop a project, select the right project and complete the project successfully. Today, few organizations and managers have these skills.
Project management is not a field that has strictly defined rules. The theory of project management was developed based on successful applications and experiences.
